Spring Things

Spring is here.

My favourite things to do for spring are:

  • Plant an herb garden I start with a window planter of my favourite herbs. Next season these will move to patio planters. This year I’ve planted basil, oregano, rosemary, parsley and cilantro.
  • Change the menu Time to get off those starchy root vegetables and cooked to death casseroles. They are great for winter warmth, but its time for change. I’ve replaced the heavier meals with fresh produce, salads, raw/cold soups, smoothies and deliciously satisfying lighter entrees.
  • Cleanse Its a great time to clear out the junk in the trunk, and put more pep in my step. My cleanse starts right after Easter.
  • Get out doors Walk, bike, clean up the yard. Breathe in the fresh air and break a sweat.
  • Get Sprouting! Sprouting seeds, beans and lentils are both nutritious and delicious. Great for snacking and adding to salads. My kids love these superfoods too.

These simple steps will make it a GREAT SEASON for me.
